Slay Your Daily Routine With Pikake Flower-Infused Goodness

Pique your interest and perk up your senses with pikake! This soft and soothing scent has been a Hawaiian classic for generations and with one whiff, you’ll easily see why. Pikake has been delivering the heavenly aroma of Hawaiian jasmine to couples and individuals since before the 1800s. Nicknamed the “flower of love,” pikake is also a known aphrodisiac, making it ideal for a night of romance with your partner. No matter how you use it, this seductive scent is meant for everyone. It’s now time to bring it into your daily routine with everyday products from Malie.

Learn about the pikake flower and the scent it emits right here.

What is the Pikake Flower?

The pikake flower is a small, beautiful perennial plant. Native to India, pikake got more commercial exposure from Princess Ka’iulani of Hawai’i back in the 1800s when she named it after her own flock of peacocks. Side note: “pikake” actually means peacock.

The scientific name for the pikake flower is Jasminum sambac. Visually, it resembles a white rose. Small and cream-colored, the Hawaiian pikake flower has rounded petals and blooms. There are actually four pikake flower varieties, each with their own distinctions. Pikake Lahilahi is the most common of the types, but the others, such as the semi double, the double-flowered rose, and the pikake pupupu, also make an appearance from time to time.

The pikake flower is ideal for cultivation in Hawai’i due to its propensity for hot, humid climates. This makes it one of the preferred scents if you’re looking to capture the essence of Hawai’i.

What Does Pikake Flower Smell Like?

There’s a reason pikake also goes by the name Arabian jasmine. This scent resembles traditional jasmine, but in a sweeter, richer, more emboldened manner. The main aromas of citrus and greens come through clearly, with subtle notes of tuberose and jasmine. The pikake flower has a musk base to round it out and provide that seductive quality you may be after.
